I think the real takeaway from both wind and solar power is that they both generate, as one of the articles put it, "mountains of waste." This creates major problems that we will have to deal with in the future. Both of these articles showed that dealing with it create all new time and expenses problems. If either of these energy sources provided more than a trickle of the power the world needs it might be worth it, but they don't. They simply make greenies feel good. Creating mountains of waste to make greenies feel good is not a good trade-off in my opinion. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Have you seen photos of the huge wind turbine blades winding up in landfills, when retired or splitting apart?? Also solar produces similar landfill problems. Not 100% yet, but progress is being made: I definately agree on expansion of geothermal and hydro-electric power, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. |
