These cars may not even make it to US, especially at that price.
Today's headlines uphold your comment that the CHEAP EVs will not be getting into the US in any significant numbers. There's going to be a 100 percent tariff levied. Beginning Sept. 27, the tariff on EVs imported from China will quadruple from 25 percent to 100 percent. US Locks In China Tariff Hikes on EVs Click Here Also there's 25 percent tariffs on EV batteries, battery parts, critical minerals, steel and aluminum products, and ship-to-shore cranes. A White House economic advisor said: "such 'tough, targeted' tariffs are needed to counteract China’s state-driven subsidies and technology transfer policies, which have led to overinvestment and excess production capacity." IRONICALLY, Harris is critical of Trump's ideas about tariffs, yet the Harris-Biden folks are likewise heavily involved. Go figure !! Throw these tariffs onto the growing pile up of issues that Kamala has bombed out on. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: These cars may not even make it to US, especially at that price. However, across the world they will sell. Sooner or later the charging infrastructure will be in place. By then China will control the EV market. Ultimately it may be the same as shoes and TVs and cell phones - try buying Made in America. I may not have the answers but the right wing approach to EVs does not look to benefit American workers. |
