Section 6: International Subject: Cheap EVs Msg# 1210972

In about the middle of that video I noticed a statement saying that things like Biden's 100% tariff on Chinese electric cars is also affecting their sales. While that goes a long way toward protecting American manufacturers it means no cheap Chinese electric cars for Americans. It doesn't matter what they sell for in other countries.
Don't get me wrong, I think protecting our manufacturers by hitting foreign countries with the same kind of tariffs they hit us with is both an act of common sense survival and exactly the right thing to do. I think reciprocal tariffs should be required by law. I don't have a horse in this race as I don't see an all-electric car suiting my needs for the foreseeable future. |
