EVs are not for everyone
I'd agree How about the Electric busses in China. One bursts into flames, and then destroying the one's parked close by. 1-1/2 min video. And similar fires have destroyed two busses in Paris. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Those numbers are for home charging. The 64 hour charge is using 120 volt trickle charge. (There are a couple of other Teslas in the list that take 71 hours.) The 240 volt home charge would be 11.5 - 13 hours for those long range models, easily charged overnight. A super charger station would do it much faster. If you take long-distance vacations, then an EV is probably not for you, although at least one manfacturer will include a certain amount of free loner time of a gas vehicle for long-distance travel. EVs are not for everyone, but there are hybrid SUVs that will get you a 50% or so improvement in gas mileage. |
