Section 25: Miscellaneous Subject: Tesla destroyed by fire Msg# 1159130

Those numbers are for home charging. The 64 hour charge is using 120 volt trickle charge. (There are a couple of other Teslas in the list that take 71 hours.) The 240 volt home charge would be 11.5 - 13 hours for those long range models, easily charged overnight. A super charger station would do it much faster. If you take long-distance vacations, then an EV is probably not for you, although at least one manfacturer will include a certain amount of free loner time of a gas vehicle for long-distance travel.
EVs are not for everyone, but there are hybrid SUVs that will get you a 50% or so improvement in gas mileage. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If I read the chart properly the fastest complete charge on any vehicle is three hours and the longest 64 hours. That’s a long time. I get about 20 mpg on both my Silverado snd my Tahoe. Both v eights. Plenty of room for my 6-3 225 pounds and can tow most anything. Think I’ll stay with gas. Thanks |
