For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It drives me nuts when I keep seeing them exchanging emails and sending interesting info by email instead of using the forum. Welcome to forum management. They simply do not realize the power inherent in online messaging. Twitter did not become Twitter and Facebook did not become Facebook because people were sending each other emails or letters to the editor. Young people realize the power of the public internet; the older generation uses computer technology but too many do not realize the emails won't change much because they are talking to their own little group. Nice and friendly.... but if the goal is to influence others, not a good approach. Older people still read newspapers, unlike the younger generation who get most of their news online. Anyway, looking at your message board, peopel are starting to get into it. |
