It drives me nuts when I keep seeing them exchanging emails and sending interesting info by email instead of using the forum.
Welcome to forum management. They simply do not realize the power inherent in online messaging. Twitter did not become Twitter and Facebook did not become Facebook because people were sending each other emails or letters to the editor. Young people realize the power of the public internet; the older generation uses computer technology but too many do not realize the emails won't change much because they are talking to their own little group. Nice and friendly.... but if the goal is to influence others, not a good approach. Older people still read newspapers, unlike the younger generation who get most of their news online. Anyway, looking at your message board, peopel are starting to get into it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks for the encouragement Joe. I've honestly felt like I was swimming up stream...I've been constantly nagging the group. It drives me nuts when I keep seeing them exchanging emails and sending interesting info by email instead of using the forum. Every time I see it I push whoever to post it and I think I'm getting the reputation of being a pain in the *##! They don't seem to know how to do the simplest things...they take the easy way out and ask me to do it. I know I gotta ween them off that before it drives me crazy! I even suggested if they didn't want to support it I'd be happy to abondon it. Getting lots of lip service asking me to stick with it, but durn, it's hard when I have a full time job and don't feel enough support is there! I needed to hear from you if you thought I was wasting my time...so thanks again. One other thing, I'm having trouble copying a jpg picture on my desk top to the message section. I'm missing something??? |
