I'm in Oak Park, immediately west of the city, and it's been bitter cold and snowy.  My son had his first snow day ever (two in a row in fact) last week--the last time they closed the schools was the year he was born, and the previous one had been some time in the early 80s.  Today was the first day above freezing in several weeks, but I don't see that the snow is any lower.  We can just hope, I guess.
