It is for "insiders" (long time members) and former staff members, people who know each other, and as you say, these people can then chat semi-privately. Every person posting in Crafts joined in 2001. The entire forum posting membership consists of "insiders." If any members are discussing crafts, it should not be in a closed section. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi, Joe-- We actually use the VIP flag in Crafts. It is for "insiders" (long time members) and former staff members, people who know each other, and as you say, these people can then chat semi-privately. I'd still like that kind of functionality. The other flags you suggest seem fine to me. I don't know if you want to go to the trouble of creating separate flags for polls, calendar, etc. Unless we're doing a gut job and, like installing fiberoptics in your house while you've got the walls open, you might as well do it now.
