Hi Kyra,
I don’t know where January went and February is almost over! Happy to hear you were ok from the tornado! Hope you’re doing well, weather hasn’t been too bad and you’re staying safe and healthy. Did you get healed up from your eye surgery? Did you get your sewing room reorganized? Hope so. A lot has been happening here. We had a flood in downtown San Diego and in other parts of the county on January 22nd. Where I work, Metropolitan Transit System (San Diego Trolley) the first floor and repair facilities were flooded and we had retaining walls by the tracks on our east county line collapse. So far costs are $28 million dollars but there is machinery that was destroyed because they are in pits in two places that will have to be replaced. The walls are all just about done having drywall cut out, dried out, replaced, painted and last will be the flooring. Fortunately I work upstairs so no damage was done. Can’t wait till it’s all done. This month started off with a bang-literally- as Damon was in a minor fender bender couple weeks ago and now we have to pay an extra $1000 a year for three years on our car insurance. Thankfully we only had to pay the deductible of $500 for the repairs. Sigh…. He’s been there done this before in 2016. I’m doing fair, battling with my low back but not letting it get the best of me! Going to make some rice bags (heat in the microwave to be like a heating pad) for the next craft fair in April. Plus going to make more jewelry. Will be fun. Time to head to bed and get this sent bef it times out. Love you and will talk more later! Colleen |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It's been on the wild side here. We've been in the teens and single digits. It's 27 right now. We are suppose to get above freezing tomorrow and up to 64 by Thursday. Just before the girls were to get out for Christmas break we got hit with a tornado. It destroyed several areas here in Clarksville. At least we didn't lose our power this time. Then the girls got to go back to school a couple of days after Christmas break when the temps dropped and the snow began. I hope they get to go back tomorrow. Jackie was out of work three days last week because of snow and ice. The VA was closed all week last week. But Katie had to work from home. In fact Monday when everyone was off for the holiday they called Katie and they paid her overtime to call and cancel appointments. She gets to go back to the office Monday. I had surgery on my lower eye lids on the 8th. I go see the Dr. Tuesday and set up to have to upper lids on next. The stiches are driving me batty. I made Lexi a doll closet out of pvc pipe for Christmas. Then after Christmas I made her a chair for her 18" doll. I'm working on a double bed made with pvc pipe for the doll too. I just need to glue it together and make the bedding for it. I made tons of new cards for Jackies Christmas gift. Still been playing with my resin too. Also trying to redo my sewing room so I can have more room. Right now I'm just trying to stay warm. It's only 65 in my sewingroom. Glad you enjoyed the craft fair. I'm sorry I never did get to send you the box of yarn and Christmas ornament goodies. They will show up one day <G>. Well I'm going into another room for a while to warm up. Stay well. Kyra |
