It's been on the wild side here. We've been in the teens and single digits. It's 27 right now. We are suppose to get above freezing tomorrow and up to 64 by Thursday.
Just before the girls were to get out for Christmas break we got hit with a tornado. It destroyed several areas here in Clarksville. At least we didn't lose our power this time. Then the girls got to go back to school a couple of days after Christmas break when the temps dropped and the snow began. I hope they get to go back tomorrow. Jackie was out of work three days last week because of snow and ice. The VA was closed all week last week. But Katie had to work from home. In fact Monday when everyone was off for the holiday they called Katie and they paid her overtime to call and cancel appointments. She gets to go back to the office Monday. I had surgery on my lower eye lids on the 8th. I go see the Dr. Tuesday and set up to have to upper lids on next. The stiches are driving me batty. I made Lexi a doll closet out of pvc pipe for Christmas. Then after Christmas I made her a chair for her 18" doll. I'm working on a double bed made with pvc pipe for the doll too. I just need to glue it together and make the bedding for it. I made tons of new cards for Jackies Christmas gift. Still been playing with my resin too. Also trying to redo my sewing room so I can have more room. Right now I'm just trying to stay warm. It's only 65 in my sewingroom. Glad you enjoyed the craft fair. I'm sorry I never did get to send you the box of yarn and Christmas ornament goodies. They will show up one day <G>. Well I'm going into another room for a while to warm up. Stay well. Kyra |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Hi Kyra, I can’t believe it’s already the 20th of January. Do not know where the time has gone. How have you been? How are you guys doing with the cold weather? My friend's in Oakdale has been in the teens 20’s with snow and rain. Just hope you’re keeping warm and healthy. We’re driving in the rain up to Irvine for the 80th birthday dinner for Damon’s uncle David. He’s the last remaining sibling of his dad’s family. Not great weather but so far no major traffic issues. We do need the rain so I will be glad for that. My December craft show went pretty well. Made more sales from my jewelry than any thing else. It’s not been cold enough for people to want to purchase scarves but that’s ok. I will need to get into the she shed and make some more jewelry and work on some spring ornaments. We might have a craft fair in Apr or May. Just depends when the organizer comes back from deployment. She’s a Lt Commander in the Navy on the USS Carl Vincent. She’s supposed to be back either late February sometime in March. Nice lady. Think I might sew up some rice bags which are great for sore neck’s or backs. Heat them in the microwave for about a minute 30 seconds, wrap in light towel and ahhhh, relief! Oh bother, there’s an accident and it’s got traffic at a standstill at Camp Pendleton. ?? Has picked up but I’m sure this won’t be the last traffic stop before we get to our destination. Hope Kati, hubby and the girls are well. I’m sure he has been busy with line repairs. What crafts have you been doing? I’m going to start up crafting with the high school gal soon. She was so busy with the holiday, tests for school and filling out college applications that we took a break. Will be great to see her again. Good kid that I hope does wel. Yahoo, moving again, slowly but surely getting there, take care and stay warm, safe and healthy! Colleen |
