For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Note --for some reason, margins need expanding to read this properly. A mystery why?? This message seems a bit long. Sorry, but seems a topic triggering a long answer. My apologies. Since you're taking aim at the Prez with a racial assertion, let's flip the scene the other way. Let's review some Dem's actions regarding minorities. And you're asking about recent memories, so lets leave aside all the earlier events and start with the mid 1900's < It was Dwight Eisenhower, a Republican Prez, in 1957 who sent the 101st Airborne to integrate the Arkansas schools, after Dem governor Orval Faubus refused a Supreme Court order & was ordering his Arkansas National Guard to enforce segregation. < It was the opponent of the Civil Rights Movement Bull Connor, the Police & Fire Dept Commissioner in 1963 who ordered the fire hoses to be turned against the high school kids marching in Birmingham. A dark moment in that Democratic party history. Connor was an active Democrat who served in the Alabama legislature, served on the Democratic National committee, and as delegate to several Democratic national conventions. At the 1948 convention he led the walk-out in protest against President Harry Truman’s civil rights policies. < The Republicans provided the majority that passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, over the filibuster of such well known Democrats as William Fulbright and Al Gore Sr. - and the KKK Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd (of West Virginia). < It was the Democrats who kept Grand Kleagle Byrd in the party. < It was Democrats who called General Colin Powell a "house nigger". < In 2008 we heard "silence" from the Dems when members of the New Black Panther Party hung out at a Philadelphia precinct wielding big batons, during a presidential election. < During 2020 we often heard "silence" or a few lame excuses about the Antifai and BLM's destruction of property, arson, looting and even killings. Both the Dems & media have been guilty of this subterfuge. Finally after weeks or months of those abuses, Biden gave a bit of weak criticism. The enabling of law breaking is teaching our youth & the minorities a wrong-headed message, and is dangerous to the nation's safety. We've even seen some of that violence in OC this summer I'd suggest the record shows that the Dems have plenty of foibles in this area of racial issues. Not the sterling record they'd like to have everybody think about. |
