Tom,
I was replying to this: (1/6/2021) Tom Hemmick wrote: Seems most folks can recall the Democrat KKK Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd who was in congress for a number of years. One of Byrd's votes was to filibuster, opposing the 1964 Civil Rights Act, along with such well known Democrats as William Fulbright and Al Gore Sr. And, there is no way I would associate Abraham Lincoln with Trump or today's Republican Party. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sorry Your time frames of history are out of whack. Civil war was in the 1865 decade. AND The Dixiecrats were formed in 1948. Politicians of the ages 30 to 40 in the 1865 era would have to live to the ages of 113 to 123 years old to join the Dixiecrats. Doubtful that any survived. Also, don't forget one of the most famous KKK leaders and Dem politician Robert Byrd who organized and served as a Ku Klux Klan leader in the 1940's. Whereas the famous Repub Prez Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. |
