Dave
Did you see the Michael Moore film "Planet of the Humans"??? Plenty of criticisms of how the green energy has been failing. One example is where he shows a vast parking lot size field, filled with so many solar panels. AND then they admit how few homes it would provide energy. And only when the sun is shining. The whole film video is on line. Takes about 1-1/2 hr to view it. But is a real eye opener, giving pause to believers in the various green deals. And Michael Moore is a critic coming away from being a former supporter of those green movements. Very significant voice. Here's that video of the film "Planet of the Humans" |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: “green” disposal. Dave You nailed it. There's a massive problem looming around the corner for “green” disposal. For example solar panels were supposed to last 20 or 25 years. But failures in 15 yrs are occurring. The aluminum frames are easiest to detach & recycle. But their sandwich of glass, silicone, silver, lead & tin poses big problems. There's been no cost effective way to extract the potentially useful silver, and the lead can poison land fills. When you look at the vast volumes of panels to produce significant levels of energy, the problems of disposal are ballooning quite large. Tom |
