For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Seems there's several claims of why wind turbine blades are prone to failures. The example, last summer you'll recall, about the Nantucket failure, involved a new project still being constructed. In that case, the supplier GE Vernova stated there were manufacturing defects, with insufficient bonding material being used. Nantucket Locals raised objections as potentially hazardous shards from the broken fiberglass blades covered the local beaches -- as well as potential effects on local seafood. Disaster to tourism there. Faulty manufacturing blamed for Vineyard Wind offshore blade failure Click Here And here's a UK failure caused by combination of heavy offshore winds, and the blade positioning, with three GE Vernova blade failures, reported in Sept 2024. Latest GE blade problem blamed on positioning of turbine Click Here YET the thousands of numbers are accumulating junk yards -- old failed turbine blades which generally points to design weaknesses, monster sizes, wind stresses, etc. These are revealing such blades are absolutely prone to failure.
