Image below from Tom Hemmick - Image Title: Coal Burned Globally Image Info: China uses 12 times as much coal as the U.S. & four times as much as India Click Here China's costs are kept low by generating power from coal. The Lowest cost fuel.
Wind and solar are much more costly, as being pushed in the US. China thus has the competitive advantage. And Australia is shipping them lots of coal -- cashing on the trend.
Volks Wagon is also worried about the Cheap EVs from China. And Germany may raise tariffs as they have against Fords & Chevies, for quite a while.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Today's headlines uphold your comment that the CHEAP EVs will not be getting into the US in any significant numbers. There's going to be a 100 percent tariff levied. A tacit admission that the US cannot compete with China. Those China EVs will sell around the world and we sit here feeling smug. |
