It seems this is more complicated than just being able to edit images wherever they may be stored, like it was.  Did you see my message about using the article vault for storing home page images and changing them frequently?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Don't make it complicated. Just open a second browser instance and go to the articles images. Use the first browser instance to edit your articles after you make changes to images. Or, make all your changes to article images in the regular gallery area and then go edit your articles.
