This guy actually has good images--the other user from some years ago had that were not really of general interest--pictures of trophies or himself, but not shooting related without any back story. This new guy sounds interesting, and I do plan to try to draw him out, which is my usual MO. I just realized I'd never discussed this with you and thought I'd run it by you. Do you have a way of knowing if members are hot-linking or posting forum images elsewhere? Further, does it drag on server usage? I assume yes but don't know how much. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Well, if the images are ok then why worry about it? Why would you delete good images from the gallery? Users could care less about who uploaded an image. I would try to draw the uploader into posting. If he is storing on firearms site and then displaying on other sites, this is actually something I can control. The code may not be on the new code yet but I can actually write something over the image if it is displayed on another domain or even just show a dummy image saying where the real image is located. |
