I would tend to agree with you, with the caveat that all adult-oriented material  should clearly be kept out of reach of children (under 18 at this point in this country), and--if the local community deems it undesirable--out of the library all together. Thoughts?

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Yes, the comment is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. However... Some people are more easily offended than others. Not everyone is offended by the same things. A great library should cover all bases and not decide what is or isn't offensive. Each individual can decide what they find offensive and avoid such material. |
