I don't know which planet you are paying attention to, but it doesn't seem to be Planet Earth.
Do you think Ukraine started the war? T said they did. Do you think Ukraine (without the nukes they gave up) had any negotiating leverage with Russia? T said they shouldn't have started it...they should have made a deal. And, what kind of deal would that have been? Total surrender? Should the countries who participated in the Budapest Memorandum provide security to Ukraine? The Budapest Memorandum, signed on December 5, 1994, provided security assurances to Ukraine in exchange for its agreement to give up its nuclear arsenal. The agreement was signed in Budapest, Hungary, by the leaders of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, along with the United Kingdom, which also provided security assurances. The memorandum prohibited Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France from threatening or using military force or economic coercion against Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, except in self-defense or in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations. |
