Just started to read the National Review weekly newsletter AFTER our initial exchange today.
To paraphrase: the disproportionate decision to charge the J6 could not have contrasted more with the way prosecutors neglected to charge similar actions, riots and political disorders. While some deserved pardons or some commutations were warranted "it should have been done on a case by case basis". "In one of his first acts, it was a bad look for an administration that has pledged to end partisanship and restore public order.(again a paraphrase) Speaking of "bad looks", they also criticize the removal of protection for Bolton and Pompeo who remain under threat from Iranian authorities and have prices on their heads for carrying out Trump's orders. As usual, I am quite comfortable aligning my views with those of the NR editors that I have followed since my undergraduate days at St John's where we were entertained by our honorary fraternity brother Bill Buckley at several dinners. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Almost seems there's some who want J6 prisoners to be beaten up and denied medical needs to prisoners. And other gutteral reactions. For example --lock 'em up & throw away the jail key. Yet the opposite occurred with Dems & media from the summer riots, arsons, injuries and property damage. Attitudes like-- lax enforcements, release most without charges, pay off their bails, & no bail releases, On & on Hoping there's none of those two levels of justice for folks here. Four years of hard jail time already served wasn't a picnic. |
