The EV manufacturers have gotten stuck with big unsold inventories, as a result of pressure from Biden. And its a negative on a variety of levels.
Ford has announced its Dearborn Michigan EV truck plant will be closed from mid November until next year, 2025. "The new closure will furlough 800 workers as a result and follows a round of layoffs during earlier EV production. . . . Senior management said that, despite $1 billion in cost cutting measures, Ford expects to lose $5 billion on its electric truck and car business ..." For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Not specifically relevant to the Silverado EV, but relevant to makers still pushing out EV versions of existing products: I consistently get hyped up email ads from Ford pushing their EV version of my gas-powered Ford Explorer. Probably once a month or so. The manufacturers are not giving up. |
