For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Dave (& ALL) Yesterday we discussed irony of how the power from what's called the Maryland Offshore Wind Project will primarily be delivering energy to Delaware: ... Maryland's town of Ocean City will be suffering the primary visual beach impacts and industrial impacts on the town's harbor but will NOT be the primary recipients of that offshore energy which will be landing at Indian River, Delaware. Transmission lines are apparently not large enough to make Ocean City the primary recipients of that offshore power. The next irony is that Maryland has been pouring big bucks, millions of $$$$, into grants benefitting the Maryland Offshore Wind Project, yet the energy produced will be landing at Indian River, Delaware In the fiscal yrs since 2020 Maryland has paid grants totaling $13.7 Million. For the fiscal year 2024 grants were $6 million, and in earlier years they ranged between $1.6 million to $2.8 million |
