Carried over from the Ocean Pines forum. Debate is resuming about offshore wind.
Dave (& all) Earlier message: Interior greenlights Maryland Offshore Wind Project Click Here At its closest points to shore, the lease area is approximately 8.7 nautical miles from Maryland and about 9 nautical miles from Sussex County, Delaware Project includes up to 114 wind turbine generators, up to four offshore substation platforms, one meteorological tower, and up to four offshore export cable corridors. Looks like the cables will indeed come ashore in Delaware, as they're using the wording: "Once operational, the project could generate more than 2 gigawatts of clean energy for the Delmarva Peninsula" Next message Folks who watched discussions here earlier are aware of the irony of Maryland's town of Ocean City will be suffering the primary visual beach impacts and industrial impacts on the town's harbor but will NOT be the primary recipients of that offshore energy which will be landing at Indian River Delaware. Transmission lines are apparently not large enough to make Ocean City the primary recipients of that offshore power. Hence the description Delmarva Peninsula. More discussion coming -- stay tuned |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Imagine the position this country could be in if the government didn’t give money away to our enemies and illegals. And failing corporations. And bogus technology etc etc etc. |
