Well Joe, tell us the answer, we spend a zillion dollars and if that doesn't work what then? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree they don't know what their talking about. Main problem I have in my opinion All of the wind turbines and solar panels are worthless. Some insurance co's will not insure solar panels on your roof because of fire hazard. Wlnd turbines have been deemed pretty useless, due to cost and maintenance. I have no problem trying to keep earth and water ways as clean as possible, even though I also believe it's a losing cause. Also believe that mother earth will take care of itself. The above fails to address the issue. And the issue regarding temperatures has nothing to do with protecting the environment. I have no interest in debating wind farms, or solar panels. Just a political sideshow to whatever is evolving over time on the planet. The "mother earth" stuff makes no sense when it comes to humans. At one time Pennsylvania was under a glacier. Without the sun there is no earth -- mother or otherwise. "Mother earth" could be around long after the planet is uninhabitable for any living thing. The issue for humans with regard to climate is whether climate changes over time (regardless if caused by humans or not) may make certain areas uninhabitable. The lack of any need for icebreakers in the Chesapeake over the last decade or more is a perfect example. Less ice tells any thinking person the temperatures are lower. Areas along coastlines, for example, are highly susceptible to rising tide levels. Tides are rising, according to NOAA measuring at the Ocean City, MD inlet. If they continue to rise, in 50 or 100 years, property values will be zero in many low-lying areas. We have no idea what is going to happen, but why ignore what we can see happening? What we see may be short-term. I'll answer that question. Many on the right ignore rising tides because to admit the obvious for fear they have to admit some level of global warming.... and then the debate over whether humans have any control over it. |
