For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Been reading a lot of articles on EV’s. More negative than positive,....Many are calling EV the biggest scam ever. YES Some big, broad negatives No charging stations, stations not working, time to charge, cost of charging.... YES Those are more EC drawbacks in the public & buyers minds. May I mention a few more. There's fears, based on the EV horror stories. Battery fires burning down peoples homes. Been some examples of folks killed in those fires. Mechanical problems where people on trips were forced to abandon their elec. vehicles that could not be repaired, even after a factory mechanic arrived. A major life & confidence-shaking experience. Fears based on economics. About 2/3 of folks are buyers of used cars-- Resulting in squeezes by higher prices. The price tags of EV's are impossible for many. This in turn has forced used gasoline cars prices much higher. So people will be forced economically to stay in their older gas cars, far longer. Recall how Cubans are driving so many 1960's etc. cars along their streets. Concerns that energy blackouts may become frequent, from the growing recharging requirements, coupled with policies relying on interruptible solar & wind. All together EV effects could make everyday a "heck" of a mess for many folks. Change in the political winds for EV's are needed very badly |
