TO MARK AND ALL:
There is no civil discourse on this so called forum across political lines. There is a very lopsided right majority here and any alternate opinions offered are immediately rejected with no discussion. The poster is immediately "piled on" by the majority. When the poster offers further discussion / esplanation / rationale, that is followed with more piling on. When the poster finally gives up, the majority spends the next few days / week patting each other on the back and continue bashing the poster. For the most part, the majority here is unwilling / unable to discuss an alternative positions in a civilized manner. The most expediate solution is to attack the poster and continue joyously slapping each other on the back. This is why I am mostly absent from here. My opinions are obviously not wanted here. There are many more productive and enjoyable things that I can do with my time. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Why will NO liberal or left leaning people even reply?? Crickets Most of the leftists seem to have abandoned this forum. When they do reply they usually just post a lot of links to leftists media articles to "prove" their leftists ideas. I have mostly stopped addressing those postings because pointing this out repeatedly is tiring. I would engage in honest and civil discussions, but I'm not going to reply to messages that are just a bunch of links to leftist ideology, even if gleaned from supposedly legitimate sources--we know that the leftists have taken over organizations inside and outside the government, universities, "research" groups, and so on. One just needs to be a clear thinker to recognize leftist thinking. Of course I realize that the other side believes we are just a bunch of ideologues as well, hooked on right wing philosophy, but without civil discussion no one will be converted to the "other side." For sake of discussion, I do think it is always important for us to say why we are critical of the left--and I think we do a pretty decent job here. For example, in this thread there have been many convincing arguments as to why EVs are very bad for users, and why converting over to EVs en masse is a very bad idea--and how the green-at-all-costs types seem to ignore all the problems associated with EVs. But--to finish my incessant blathering--you are right, Kerry--those on the liberal or left-leaning side don't seem to be willing to even discuss these issues. |
