and i think that for him and other DEMS supporting Ukraine has become just a position they are taking because they think it gives a better chance of winning at the polls. The world be damned, the DEMs need to win their elections.

Their position - forever offering max Ukraine weaponry - makes sense only if you think that Putin is suddenly going to surrendur because he’s lost too much. The chances of him doing that are a snowballs chance in hell. 

The only way to exit this mess - and stop Ukranian deaths - is to negotiate a settlement.

Yes it’s true - continuing to give unlimited weapons will only lead to more Ukranian deaths. A settlement negotiated with both sides is the sensible way out of all this and to bring a halt to the carnage.

But who cares about Ukranian deaths, so long as DEMs win at the polls…
