This is especially true with things that have remained unchanged for years upon years, then suddenly are completely different.
The message input box with regard to the smiley icon popup and closing it with the X hasn't changed in over 5 years. Big deal. The cursor goes to the beginning of the text. It takes just a click to go wherever one wants in the text. Some things are important; some aren't. This falls into the ridiculously unimportant category. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: . While you have mainly taken huge strides forward over the decade and a half you've been coding this software, you've made the occasional backward step, usually quite minor, often tiny...but your everyday power users get so used to things working one way that it is annoying out of proportion to its significance when you change it for reasons that make no apparent sense to us. This is especially true with things that have remained unchanged for years upon years, then suddenly are completely different.
