613 new messages today in Books, after I cleared my cache as usual (but not cookies) last night. So I just logged out and then logged in again, without  clearing cache or doing anything else, and they were gone. I don't understand what's happening. This started so suddenly just a few days ago, and I'm not doing anything differently... nor are any other sites misbehaving.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Did you reset something behind the scenes? Nope.
