Not nearly as slick as having a central area where the manager can access all images (not just gallery images). 

You are correct. However, it works just as well and it isn't exactly something anyone does every hour, and probably you are the only one who does this EVER.

The central area is available, just in a different way. Try this -- and it might be faster than the old way -- click on About link, edit About, click on the film can and do what you want to do with some feature image. Cancel the edit. IOW, the images admin can be reached from ANY edit screen.

You could even create a favorite link to bring up the film can page. For example:

/ForumsAmerica/Images/VaultGraphicsAll/1

or to go right to the article images use:

http://www.immediateweb.com/mef/Images/VaultArticles/1

It's all there, and in some ways faster than the old way. Put that thinking cap on.
