Spinning and Weaving
Description: This is a cobbled-together thing to help control long warps for narrow weavings.
Its wooden parts are: an old spool, some scrap pine board, a dowel for the axle, two small curtain-rod supports to hold the axle.
There are a few brass washers that act as spacers between each end of the spool and its axle support.
The brake consists of two metal rods (one on each end) that pass through the axle and are anchored at the lower end by a little eyelet and a hole in the wood.
It's not elegant, but it works!
