Spinning and Weaving
Description: This is a close-up view of the yarns in my new scarf. The bright, multicolored yarn is the Noro; the dark yarn with shimmery highlights is my handspun (80% Shetland wool, 20% silk).
The wool and silk both were dyed blue before their fibers were blended. The wool was originally a medium brown shade, so overdyeing with blue gave it a rich, deep color. The silk went into the same dyepot as the wool.
The fibers were blended and carded on my carding drum.
So you see -- all the various projects *do* come together sometimes!
