Kinda an old image -- dating back to 2008 & 2009. Kinda weird. Not much of a story now -- with so many other fascinating developments these days -- leading up to the election upcoming in 4 days.
On the other hand, Prez Trump has substantial support from the gay community. Rick Grenell who served in the Trump administration has led much of that support. And Trump has a long history of tolerance. Quoting from reports examining this issue, for example in 2005 Trump wrote: " wishing the best to Elton John and David Furnish on their civil partnership . . . If two people dig each other, they dig each other." Earlier, in 2000 he told the gay magazine The Advocate that “it’s only fair . . to update the 1964 Civil Rights Act to include a ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation." And that extension of the Civil Rights Act has now be accomplished under this Prez. Quite a contrast from Joe Biden’s voting record — favoring the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996 or withholding federal funds from pro-gay schools. Embarrassing to the Dems attempting to court the gay's voting support. Weakens the Dems message. Yet there's no tolerance for terrorists. |
