Not to veer too far off target, but here in Ohio we had a similar totally irresponsible Democratic senator who had been entrenched in the Senate for years and years--Sherrod Brown, lining his pockets and ignoring the people of Ohio, all the while getting reelected by the large blue cities here. Finally the rest of people in the state (largely conservatives outside 4-5 big cities) got tired of his selfish ways and booted him out last election, and replaced him with a conservative Republican.
It took some work and some expenditure of capaign contributions, but I mention this just to say it can be done. These rotten-to-the-core senators and congressmen just need to be exposed as the money grubbers they are, and the people of the state shown how little they do, and have done, for their state. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The stupidity behind those expenditures is astounding. YES Maryland has long been a blue state. Especially the counties surrounding D.C. Yet there's some pockets of conservatism including the eastern shore counties. Those are heavily influenced by the ocean resort with sports and commercial fishing interests, and with lots of poultry farms, inland. YES Van Hollen is a very outspoken Dem. Very seldom have had Repub senators for Md, and have elected just one Repub congressman, Andy Harris, who has served a number of terms.. |
