See the message to Joe
Newsweek reported that 132 cases were convicted of assaulting officers. That's about 9% of the 1,500 and thus 91% were not convicted of assaulting police. And don't forget a couple more factors. Nancy Pelosi turned down the Trump request to have several thousand national guardsmen there to maintain law & order. Also there were a number of undercover FBI collaborators, in the crowd who were urging folks to go inside the Capitol. Both actions appear to be contributing to things getting out of hand-- whether or not those were intentional, both were non-helpful factors. No mystery why folks here would call out this J6, this fiasco, with descriptions in earlier messages like: “people were Railroaded and sentenced more than Bank Robbers,” “was a set up from start to finish!,” “Definitely a set up. Doors were opened for them.” & “The guards welcomed them in.” |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: On December 23, 2024, Biden commuted the sentences of 37 of 40 federal death row inmates to life in prison without possibility of parole. [He did not pardon or release them.] The three remaining who were not commuted were all either convicted of terrorism or hate-motivated mass murders: Robert Bowers, the perpetrator in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting; Dylann Roof, who committed the 2015 Charleston church shooting; and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who carried out the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. On January 20, 2025, Trump pardoned and released 1500+ individuals charged with violence against police officers on January 6, 2021. |
