A lot depends on the type of stainless, 316, 440, the list goes on, used a lot of it in the chemical industry (PVC plant) mostly 440 grade.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: FWIW, stainless steel will rust, it just rusts more slowly than carbon steel.
