We weren’t taxed to death
Wasn’t the max rate 90%? Anyway, I can’t see where folks in my extended family are suffering from all the things you list. It isn’t 1950 but in 1950 it wasn’t 1900. Luckily, it is not the 1929–1941 Depression. The longest and deepest downturn in the history of the United States and the modern industrial economy lasted more than a decade, beginning in 1929 and ending during World War II in 1941. The goody old days of soup lines. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Things were made in America. The border wasn’t open with millions coming across. We weren’t sending billions in dollars to other countries. Majority of people worked for a living. People were embarrassed to have to be on welfare. The family unit meant something. People went to church. There was morality in the country. There weren’t mass abortions. There weren’t mass shootings. The government wasn’t intent on creating division. We weren’t taxed to death People had pride in their work their family and the country. Life was better. America was a leader. Not a means for globalization. |
