Section 4: President & Congress Subject: Books and Thinking Msg# 1193526

Books and thinking? Not at all. Just to enlighten some left-wingers, conservatives don't want to "ban books" in the sense these leftists would have people believe. Not at all. Adults can read whatever they choose. What we want is to show some common sense and discretion when it comes to providing age-appropriate books to children. The far left has tried to stuff grade school libraries full of books about explicit sex, homosexual sex and similar topics that primary-grade students are, in most parents judgement, too young in which to be exposed. So those books specifically should be removed from grade school library school shelves. The Far Left takes this fact and incorrectly twists it completely out of shape, then tells the public in their false advertising that "the right" wants to "ban books." Their sycophants in the press go right along with this misinformation and broadcast it into the homes of those who are not strong followers of real news who hear it and think "those terrible far right people need to be stopped." The result is cutsie memes like the one in the message to which I've replied.
Yes, we're terrible. Protecting children from age-inappropriate material is just awful. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: October 7 begins Banned Books Week. First, read Fahrenheit 451. Our nation is heading in that direction, now. Then, read a banned book to see if it expands you thinking in a positive way. Image below from Jim Matthews - Image Title: Books and Thinking Image Info: Books help you to think, learn, and grow.
