Its the Federal Bureau of Investigation.   So when investigating crimes and other violations, seems more likely to be OK --within their mission to reimburse ATT, Verizon, etc. to search records to pursue investigations.  Of course needs to meet requirements of probable causes, sufficient for obtaining warrants.   Hmmnn   We haven't heard of any warrants of censorship.

All sorts of problems occur when its a censorship activity.  List of problems include: promoting one side's political agenda--WHILE using tax payer funds from all political sides.  Censorship is contrary to the first amendment.  Censorship is contrary to the FBI's purpose which is investigations.   Likely violations of the Hatch Act  --Using their govt positions to sway an election.  And possible other problems.   

$3.4 million appears a startling amount of dirty FBI payments made to twitter.  And how high will this go, if/when the google, facebook & youtube are added in.  Then there's the salaries of 80 FBI agents to also be added in. Perhaps $8 million.  Smelly kettle of fish.
