Oh, I never make images larger, that's almost always counterproductive. I work with photos a lot and it is almost never worth trying to make a small image larger. No, I only asked so I'd know for knowing's sake. If I am uploading one of my photos that starts out huge, I'll size it 1000 pixels wide most likely and upload it. If I'm posting a photo from the web I'll find something that fits or can be downsized. I never use anything that is too small to be of any value. 100/200 pixels wide is uselessly worthless. Subject matter always counts of course. A smaller image of a bolt handle can still show detail while a tiny image of an entire rifle, not so much, eh? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Don't know off the top of my head. However, why make images larger jsut for the sake of pushing the it into the blowup mode. If the image was visually pleasing to you in the first place, making it 10% larger isn't gonna do much. If you want to have the max size/quality create the imags at 1000 width, keeping in mind that many images don't need to be larger. In that case make them 620. |
