Still experiencing problems.  Today in MEF, after finishing a normal session I went to Home Page to "reset," then to Discussion Home Page, were it said there were fourteen new messages and seven new to me.  I clicked read all and read the messages but none were to me.  I went back to Disc. HP and click on Read New To Me and rad the seven messages, half of which I'd already seen and half which were new. 

It's never quite the same type of oddity but it hasn't been resolved.  It doesn't seem to be happening on FF.
