Spinning and Weaving
Description: This illustration shows how to tie a weaver's knot -- a knot that has eluded me for years! The blue yarn is "fixed" in place (as it would be if it were a warp end on the loom), and all movement is performed by the white yarn. In step 1, the white yarn comes up through the loop of the blue yarn. In step 2, the white yarn crosses behind the blue yarn. In step 3, the end of the white yarn crosses in front of the blue yarn and through the white loop on the opposite side of the blue yarn. In step 4, the knot is tightened by pulling the long tail of the white yarn.
