Photo From: RuthMacGregor - Album: Spinning and Weaving

Description: Here are some shuttles that are great for inkle or tablet weaving. Sometimes called inkle shuttles, sometimes called belt shuttles, they usually have a way to hold the yarn, plus an edge for beating in the wefts. The kitchen spatula shown is an improvised "beater" that can be used along with the little stick shuttles made from cardboard or scraps of wood. (Spatulas and cardboard mean that you probably have great weaving tools on hand already, they just haven't yet been recognized!)
