Description: This spinning wheel came from the part of France known as the Morvan -- centrally located and far from any large cities. I've seen photos of nearly identical wheels taken at the end of the 19th century, in locations stretching from the Morvan, through Burgundy, and into the Jura. This wheel was *complete* in an antique shop in Burgundy, and the shop owner was happy to sell it at a shockingly reasonable price. I couldn't believe my luck! ...And it works!
